This collection contains materials primarily concerning the military service of Richardson Wallace Haw in the 15th Virginia Infantry Regiment. Items pertaining to Haw's Civil War service include a diary, 1861-1862, recording daily activities of the regiment during the Peninsular Campaign and the Seven Days' Battles; military passes, 1862- 1865; and a roster, 1865, of soldiers of the 15th Virginia present at the surrender at Appomattox Court House, Va. Other items in the collection include a deed, 1832, for land in Hanover County, Va.; a diary, 1870-1872, concerning family life and religious activites; and a plat, 1881, for land in Hanover County, Va.
